And it's hard to believe I was in Egypt only a few weeks ago. What a wonderful place. Here's me with my book at the Luxor Temple.
It's amazing and exciting to watch what's happening in Egypt right now. Props to everyone there and around the world in the streets fighting for justice.

Publication party for The Streetwise Cycle will take place at the fabulous Echo Park Film Center on March 26. But why a book launch at a film center? For one thing, EPFC is a very cool place and a great resource for the community. They screen independent films and provide training for people to create their own. Visit their website to learn more.
It's also a perfect place for my book. Clear your calendar and save the date! The publication party for The Streetwise Cycle will be the evening of March 26.
Location: Echo Park Film Center More details to come. For those of you who like to get context on current events from fiction, I have two recommendations: The Map of Love by Ahdaf Soueif

FIRESIDE305 This discount doesn't affect the author's share of the purchase price. Buy as many as you like at the discounted price! I'm one of those people who loves to do it myself. I want to figure out how things work, to learn from experience (aka the hard way). That's why for The Streetwise Cycle I created my own website, recorded my own podcast, took my own photos (mostly) and used cool tools I found around the web to share the stories. It's why you'll find my book on Lulu and Smashwords.
But it's more than that. It's an aesthetic. In the world of music, they call it "lo-fi" and it's a movement. Creating amazing music by using the limitations and imperfections that come with your home studio or with recording on the street. The words are all the same - all 8,991 of them. But this time I'm making the leap to print.
You've read it online. You downloaded it to your favorite e-reader. You listened to the podcast, watched the word cloud-and-image version. You even mapped the stories. Now you can hold it in your hands, spill coffee on it, dog-ear the corners and underline the parts you like. The Streetwise Cycle is now in print. Best of all, when you read it in the tub, you won't electrocute yourself if you doze off and it slips out of your hands. Happy New Year to all! It started as a multimedia fiction project. Now it's in print! Buy it online. Better yet, come to the launch party in L.A. and I'll autograph your own copy. Check back here on the blog soon for more details about the launch party.
